The proposed bill, if enacted, would amend section 32-3279 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to require the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (BBHE) to issue temporary licenses to individuals who have completed their studies in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or addiction counseling from a regionally accredited institution. These individuals must also be in the process of applying for an associate level license and must perform their activities under qualified supervision. The temporary license would be valid for 90 days following the individual's graduation.

Additionally, the bill allows individuals to apply any direct client contact work experience gained during the temporary licensure period towards their licensure requirements. This change aims to facilitate the transition from education to professional practice for new graduates in the behavioral health field, thereby enhancing the availability of licensed professionals in Arizona.
