HB2426 is a bill that amends the Arizona Revised Statutes relating to the registration requirements for off-highway vehicles (OHVs). The bill allows the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to issue a 30-day temporary general use registration to nonresidents for OHVs that are titled in another state. This temporary registration can be issued even if the nonresident does not qualify for other types of registration, and it is not limited to one 30-day registration in a 12-month period, as is the case for other vehicles.

The bill also defines an OHV as a vehicle designed primarily for recreational nonhighway all-terrain travel, with a maximum unladen weight of 2,500 pounds, a maximum width of 80 inches, traveling on four or more nonhighway tires, and equipped with a steering wheel, a rollover protective structure, and an occupant retention system. The fee for the temporary registration is prescribed in section 28-2003, with $1 of the fee going to the county assessor's special registration fund or the state highway fund, depending on the registering officer.
