HB2316 is an emergency measure that proposes amendments to the Arizona Revised Statutes regarding the Mobile Home Relocation Fund. The bill seeks to increase the maximum payment amounts that a tenant can receive from the Fund for relocating a mobile home due to a rent increase or a change in the use of an age-restricted community. Specifically, the bill raises the maximum payment for relocating a single-section mobile home from $7,500 to $12,500 and for a multisection mobile home from $12,500 to $20,000. Additionally, the bill increases the percentage of moving expenses a tenant can collect from the Fund from 25% to 40% if they choose to abandon the mobile home in the park due to a rent increase.

The bill also removes the requirement for tenants to have a fully signed contract with a licensed installer or contractor by a specific date and to move the mobile home within 45 days after the effective date of the rent increase or after notice of Fund payment approval by the Director. The bill will become effective immediately upon the Governor's signature if the emergency clause is enacted.
