The bill, HB2051, proposes the establishment of an annual joint training session to be conducted by the Department of Health Services (DHS). This training session is intended for supervisors, compliance officers, and investigators who survey long-term care facilities, as well as skilled nursing and assisted living providers. The purpose of the training is to communicate changes in the survey process and to educate both the compliance personnel and providers on how to comply with these changes. The training can be conducted either in person or remotely.

Additionally, the bill allows DHS to accept and use gifts, grants, or donations to fund these joint training sessions. This new requirement is to be added to title 36, chapter 4, article 1 of the Arizona Revised Statutes as section 36-409.01. The bill does not anticipate any fiscal impact on the state General Fund.
