The proposed bill amends section 16-411 of the Arizona Revised Statutes to require county boards of supervisors to designate at least one polling place or voting center on the main campus of each state university within the county. Additionally, it mandates the provision of at least one early ballot dropbox at each state university satellite location, as well as at community college campuses and their satellite locations.
The bill also makes several deletions and modifications to existing language regarding the designation of polling places. It removes the previous provisions that allowed justices of the peace or election boards to designate polling places if the board failed to do so, and it clarifies that the board is not required to designate polling places for special district mail ballot elections. Furthermore, it updates the subsection references related to public school polling place requirements.
