The bill HCM2007 is a concurrent memorial urging the U.S. Congress to pass the federal State Immigration Enforcement Act or similar legislation. This act would allow states or their political subdivisions to implement and enforce both criminal and civil penalties for conduct prohibited by the immigration laws of the United States. The bill also directs the Secretary of State to transmit copies of the memorial to the President of the United States, the President of the U.S. Senate, the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and each member of the U.S. Congress from Arizona. There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the state General Fund from this legislation.
