The resolution honors Izzy Higginbottom, a standout player for the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville women's basketball team during the 2024-2025 season. A native of Arkansas, Higginbottom has had an impressive career, having previously played for the University of Missouri and Arkansas State University, where she earned All-Sun Belt First Team honors and ranked among the top scorers in the NCAA. Since joining the Razorbacks, she has excelled, leading the Southeastern Conference and ranking third nationally in scoring average, with notable achievements including a career-high of 40 points in a game and setting a record for the longest streak of thirty-plus point games in the program's history.
The resolution acknowledges Higginbottom's numerous accomplishments, including leading the NCAA in total points and free throws made, as well as her recognition as an All-American honorable mention. The Senate expresses its pride in her achievements, which not only elevate her team but also bring recognition to the state of Arkansas. Upon adoption, a copy of the resolution will be presented to Higginbottom by the Secretary of the Senate.
