The resolution honors Hettie Lue Brooks, a beloved figure from Hot Springs, Arkansas, who passed away on April 2, 2025. Known affectionately as "Mim," she made significant contributions to her community and beyond throughout her life. After graduating from Hendrix College, she served as a youth pastor and taught high school before co-founding Brookhill Ranch Summer Camp in 1964, which has positively impacted thousands of children over the years. Additionally, she founded Christian Ministries Church in 1972 and Christian Ministries Academy in 1980, both of which continue to serve the community. Her dedication extended internationally, as she spent four decades ministering in Belize.

The resolution acknowledges Brooks' extensive legacy, including her involvement with Hot Springs Women of Prayer and her long-standing commitment to hosting women's seminars. It highlights her role as a mother and grandmother, as well as her enduring influence on the lives of many. The House of Representatives expresses its intention to remember Hettie Lue Brooks as an Arkansas legend and plans to present a copy of the resolution to her family in recognition of her remarkable life and contributions.
