The bill amends the Special License Plate Act of 2005 to authorize the issuance and renewal of a special license plate specifically designed to promote and support the Arkansas EMS Foundation. It establishes a new section, 27-24-1433, which outlines the creation and issuance process for the Arkansas EMS Foundation special license plate. The Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration is tasked with designing the plate in consultation with the Arkansas EMS Foundation, and it will be issued upon payment of the standard vehicle registration fee, a $25 design-use contribution to the foundation, and a $10 handling and administrative fee. The fees collected for the special license plate will be remitted monthly to the Arkansas EMS Foundation.
Additionally, the bill repeals the existing provision for the Grand Lodge of Arkansas special license plate, effectively eliminating it from the law. This repeal includes all associated requirements and fees that were previously in place for the Grand Lodge special license plate, thereby streamlining the special license plate offerings to focus solely on supporting the Arkansas EMS Foundation.
