This bill amends the Special License Plate Act of 2005 to introduce a new special license plate dedicated to promoting and supporting the Arkansas EMS Foundation. The Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration is tasked with creating and issuing this special license plate, which will be designed in consultation with the Arkansas EMS Foundation and will feature consecutive numbering. Vehicle owners can obtain this plate by paying the standard registration fee, a $25 design-use contribution that will be directed to the Arkansas EMS Foundation, and a $10 handling and administrative fee. The bill also outlines that the fees collected for the renewal of these plates will be remitted monthly to the Arkansas EMS Foundation.
Additionally, the bill repeals the existing provision for the Grand Lodge of Arkansas special license plate, effectively eliminating it from the law. This repeal includes all associated requirements and fees that were previously mandated for obtaining the Grand Lodge plate. The changes aim to streamline the special license plate offerings in Arkansas while providing support for the EMS community through the new Arkansas EMS Foundation plate.
