The resolution recognizes the Mills University Studies High School Lady Comets basketball team for their remarkable achievement in winning the Class 4A conference championship and reaching the semifinals of the Class 4A state championship tournament during the 2024-2025 season. This season was particularly significant as it followed the tragic passing of Head Coach Joe Gregory's wife, Cynthia Gregory, in January 2025. The Lady Comets not only secured their first conference championship and regional championship in eighteen years but also made history with their first appearance in the state championship semifinals, finishing the season with a record of twenty wins and ten losses.

Additionally, the resolution honors the individual accomplishments of team members, including All-State and All-Conference honors for Kirsten Johnson and Jermera Streets, among others. The resolution concludes by expressing the Senate and House of Representatives' recognition of the team's achievements and remembrance of Cynthia Gregory, with a copy of the resolution to be presented to Head Coach Joe Gregory by the Secretary of the Senate.
