The bill modifies the validity period of the visiting qualifying patient registry identification card for medical marijuana, changing it from a duration of ninety days to a validity of one year from the date of issuance. Additionally, it establishes a renewal process for qualifying patient registry identification cards, requiring patients to submit a renewal application at least thirty days before the expiration of their initial card, along with a physician's written qualification completed within the previous sixty days. Renewed cards will be valid for two years from the date of renewal.
Furthermore, the bill introduces a universal registry identification card for individuals employed by or providing services to dispensaries or cultivation facilities. These individuals must notify the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division in writing before starting their employment or services, and the division will maintain a record of each dispensary or cultivation facility associated with the cardholder. The Department of Health and the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division are authorized to promulgate rules to implement these new provisions.
