The resolution honors thirteen-year-old D.J. Daniel from Houston, Texas, for his courageous battle against terminal brain cancer and his aspiration to become a police officer. Despite being diagnosed in 2018 with a prognosis of only five months to live, D.J. has continued to fight and pursue his passion for public service and law enforcement. His determination has garnered him recognition, including being named an honorary United States Secret Service agent by President Donald J. Trump.

In recognition of his bravery and commitment, the resolution supports naming D.J. Daniel an honorary State Capitol Police Officer and proclaims March 17, 2025, as D.J. Daniel Day in Arkansas. The House of Representatives expresses gratitude for D.J.'s dedication to public service and commits to supporting him and his family in their ongoing fight against cancer. A copy of the resolution will be provided to D.J.'s father, Theodius Daniel, by the Chief Clerk of the House.
