The bill amends the existing law regarding funding for adult education charter schools in Arkansas. It removes the provision that previously stated funding for these schools would not be provided through the Division of Career and Technical Education Public School Fund. Instead, it establishes that funding can come from both public and private sources, including the entity operating the adult education charter school.
Additionally, the bill introduces a new funding structure whereby adult education charter schools will receive a per-student funding amount equivalent to the per-pupil foundation funding established under Arkansas Code 6-20-2305. This funding will be contingent upon students successfully completing all requirements necessary to obtain a high school diploma, thereby ensuring that financial support is aligned with educational outcomes.
