This resolution honors the life and contributions of Bob R. Brooks, Jr., who was a dedicated public servant in both Arkansas and the United States. Born on September 18, 1962, and passing on February 11, 2024, Brooks had a distinguished career that began in Washington, D.C., as Chief of Staff for Congressman Jay Dickey and later included roles such as Director of the Arkansas Ethics Commission and Chief Deputy Attorney General under Tim Griffin. His expertise in national politics led him to serve as a partner at Capitol Counsel LLC and to play a significant role in the 2000 Florida recount for the Bush-Cheney campaign. Brooks was known for his intellect, work ethic, and deep love for Arkansas, which he demonstrated by returning to the state in 2020 to be closer to family.

In recognition of his impactful career, the resolution states that the building formerly known as the Boyle Building will be renamed the Bob R. Brooks, Jr. Justice Building, serving as a lasting tribute to his legacy. The resolution also highlights Brooks' personal life, noting his pride in being "Uncle Bob" to his nephew and his close relationships with family. The Senate expresses its gratitude for Brooks' service and dedication, and a copy of the resolution will be provided to his parents, Bob and Cindy Brooks, as a gesture of remembrance.
