He and his wife, Vera, opened Ferguson's Town & Country Furniture, TVs & Appliances in 1963, which later evolved into Ferguson's Furniture. Mr. Ferguson was a strong advocate for local businesses, working to ensure they were treated fairly in comparison to online companies, and played a significant role in the development of the Benton and Bryant area.

Beyond his business achievements, Mr. Ferguson was known for his vibrant personality, storytelling ability, and the strong work ethic he instilled in his family. He served as President of the Benton Chamber of Commerce and was passionate about aviation.
