He and his wife, Vera, opened Ferguson's Town & Country Furniture, TVs & Appliances in 1963, which later evolved into Ferguson's Furniture. Mr. Ferguson was a strong advocate for local businesses, working to ensure they were treated fairly in comparison to online companies, and played a significant role in the development of the Benton and Bryant area.

In addition to his business achievements, Mr. Ferguson was known for his vibrant personality, storytelling ability, and dedication to instilling a strong work ethic in his family. He served as the President of the Benton Chamber of Commerce and was involved in securing the location for its current building. The resolution expresses condolences to his family and acknowledges the lasting impact Mr. Ferguson had on his community, highlighting his larger-than-life presence and the fond memories he created for those around him.
