8 TO COMMEND THE HIGHLAND HIGH SCHOOL BAND FOR BEING
9 DECLARED THE CLASS 4A CONCERT BAND STATE CHAMPION.

18 WHEREAS, on April 16, 2024, the Highland High School Band was declared
19 the Class 4A State Champion Concert Band by the Arkansas School Band and
20 Orchestra Association; and
21
22 WHEREAS, the Arkansas State Concert Contest hosted by the Arkansas
23 School Band and Orchestra Association took place at Bryant High School; and
24
25 WHEREAS, other finalists in the 4A Class included the Genoa Central
26 High School Band, the Gentry High School Band, the Nashville High School Wind
27 Ensemble, the Pottsville High School Band, the Harmony Grove High School Band
28 of Benton, Arkansas, the Ozark High School Band, the Berryville High School
29 Band, the Stuttgart High School Band, and the Arkadelphia High School Band;
30 and

32 WHEREAS, the Highland High School Band will serve as the 4A Honor Band
33 in the 2025 Arkansas State Concert Contest hosted by the Arkansas School Band
34 and Orchestra Association; and
35
36 WHEREAS, the Highland High School Band is led by Directors Greg Bruner,

1 Hope Bruner, and Faith Serna; and

3 WHEREAS, the Highland High School Band previously won the inaugural
4 title of Class 4A State Champion Concert Band on April 12, 2022, also under
5 the direction of Directors Greg Bruner, Hope Bruner, and Faith Serna; and
6
7 WHEREAS, the Highland High School Band continues to demonstrate
8 profound achievements and a culture of excellence through the dedication of
9 its band students and the direction and leadership of Directors Greg Bruner,
10 Hope Bruner, and Faith Serna,
11
12 NOW THEREFORE,
13 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

16 THAT the House of Representatives commend the Highland High School Band
17 for its 2024 Class 4A State Championship, and for the high standards and
18 caliber of performance of its students and director.
19
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, a copy
21 shall be transmitted to Director Greg Bruner by the Chief Clerk of the House
22 of Representatives.
