7 SENATE RESOLUTION
8 TO PROVIDE FOR RECESS AND SINE DIE ADJOURNMENT OF THE
9 FISCAL SESSION OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY;
10 TO AUTHORIZE THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF
11 REPRESENTATIVES AND THE PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE OF THE
12 SENATE BY JOINT PROCLAMATION TO RECONVENE THE GENERAL
13 ASSEMBLY AT ANY TIME BEFORE 12:00 NOON, MAY 9, 2024,
14 FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING VETOES, CORRECTING
15 ERRORS OR OVERSIGHTS, OR TO ADJOURN THE NINETY-FOURTH
16 GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT ANY TIME BEFORE THAT DATE IF THEY
17 DETERMINE THAT THERE IS NO NEED TO RECONVENE; AND TO
18 PROVIDE THAT IF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY IS NOT
19 RECONVENED OR ADJOURNED BEFORE 12:00 NOON, MAY 9,
20 2024, THE FISCAL SESSION OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
21 ASSEMBLY IS ADJOURNED SINE DIE ON THAT DATE.

27 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

30 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
31 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

33 (a) That the Fiscal Session of the Ninety-Fourth General Assembly of
34 the State of Arkansas shall enter into recess at a time as may be agreed upon
35 by the House of Representatives and the Senate;
36 (b) That under Arkansas Constitution, Article 6, § 15, before

1 adjournment of the General Assembly, the Governor is afforded five (5) days
2 after receipt of a bill to sign a bill or veto a bill; therefore, the House
3 of Representatives and the Senate shall be open on regular business days
4 through 12:00 noon, May 9, 2024, so that the office of the Chief Clerk of the
5 House of Representatives and the office of the Secretary of the Senate may
6 receive communications, vetoes of bills by the Governor, and notification of
7 errors and oversights;
8 (c) That the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President
9 Pro Tempore of the Senate may, by joint proclamation:
10 (1) Reconvene the General Assembly at any time before 12:00
11 noon, May 9, 2024, for the purpose of:
12 (A) Considering vetoes; or
13 (B) Correcting errors or oversights; or
14 (2) Adjourn the Fiscal Session of the Ninety-Fourth General
15 Assembly at any time before 12:00 noon, May 9, 2024, if they determine it is
16 not necessary to reconvene; and
17 (d) That if the General Assembly is not reconvened or adjourned before
18 12:00 noon, May 9, 2024, the Fiscal Session of the Ninety-Fourth General
19 Assembly is adjourned sine die on that date.
