8 TO HONOR THELL AND MARGIE ELLISON AS THE LONGEST-
9 MARRIED COUPLE IN ARKANSAS.

14 LONGEST-MARRIED COUPLE IN ARKANSAS.

17 WHEREAS, Thell Ellison was born on September 14, 1917; and
18
19 WHEREAS, Margie Ellison was born Margie Rose on February 12, 1925; and
20
21 WHEREAS, Thell and Margie Ellison were married on June 24, 1941; and
22
23 WHEREAS, Thell and Margie Ellison currently live on their own in
24 Natural Dam, Arkansas; and
25
26 WHEREAS, today the family of Thell and Margie Ellison is made up of
27 over one hundred (100) family members, including Thell and Margie Ellison's:
28 (1) Five (5) children;
29 (2) Fifteen (15) grandchildren;
30 (3) Thirty-seven (37) great-grandchildren; and
31 (4) Thirty-one (31) great-great-grandchildren; and

33 WHEREAS, Thell and Margie Ellison are members of Independence Free Will
34 Baptist Church in Natural Dam, Arkansas, where Brother Thell Ellison
35 continues to:
36 (1) Teach an adult Sunday school class that he has taught for

1 eighty-one (81) years; and
2 (2) Serve as a deacon as he has for eighty-two (82) years; and

4 WHEREAS, Margie Ellison has served as a clerk, song leader, and
5 custodian for the Independence Free Will Baptist Church in Natural Dam,
6 Arkansas; and
7
8 WHEREAS, Thell and Margie Ellison have been married for eighty-two (82)
9 years,

11 NOW THEREFORE,
12 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
13 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

15 THAT the Senate honor Thell and Margie Ellison as the longest-married
16 couple in Arkansas.
17
18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution shall be
19 provided to Thell and Margie Ellison by the Secretary of the Senate.
