8 TO RECOGNIZE THE 2023-2024 CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL TIGERS

18 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Tigers Boys’ basketball
19 team secured the Class 6A State Championship by defeating the Bryant High
20 School Hornets on March 8, 2023, at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs; and
21
22 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Tigers scored seven (7)
23 unanswered points to build a five (5) point lead with one minute forty-one
24 seconds (01:41) on the clock remaining, winning the game with a final score
25 of 63-55; and
26
27 WHEREAS, Daniel Culberson scored a team high of sixteen (16) points for
28 the Little Rock Central High School Tigers who had the following three (3)
29 players finish in double figures:
30 (1) Annor Boateng;
31 (2) Luke Moore; and
32 (3) Chris Washington; and

34 WHEREAS, Daniel Culberson was named All-State, All-Conference, and an
35 Arkansas Basketball Coaches Association Top Five Player; and

1 WHEREAS, Annor Boateng was named Gatorade Player of the Year in 2023
2 and 2024, State Tournament Most Valuable Player, All-State, All-Conference,
3 and Arkansas Basketball Coaches Association Top 6A Player of the Year; and

5 WHEREAS, Luke Moore was named All-State and All-Conference; and
6
7 WHEREAS, the State Championship win was a significant milestone for the
8 Little Rock Central High School Tigers, being their first undisputed State
9 Championship win since 1999; and
10
11 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Tigers were led by Head
12 Coach Brian Ross, who was selected by the Arkansas Basketball Coaches
13 Association as the 6A Boys' Basketball Coach of the Year; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Tigers' hard work,
16 dedication, and skill have truly paid off,

18 NOW THEREFORE,
19 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
20 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

22 THAT the Senate recognize the 2023-2024 Little Rock Central High School
23 Tigers as the Class 6A boys' basketball State Champions.

25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon adoption of this resolution, a copy shall be
26 provided to Head Coach Brian Ross by the Secretary of the Senate.
