19 WHEREAS, the Rogers High School Lady Mounties claimed the 2023 Class 6A
20 Cheer State Championship title on December 15, 2023, marking the first cheer
21 state championship win for the Rogers High School Lady Mounties; and
22
23 WHEREAS, the Rogers High School Lady Mounties have claimed runner-up
24 finishes in 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2022; and
25
26 WHEREAS, as Arkansas 2003 Class 6A Cheer State Champions, the Rogers
27 High School Lady Mounties competed in the UCA National High School
28 Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida, and were nationally ranked
29 seventeenth out of fifty-nine (59) competitive cheer teams; and
30
31 WHEREAS, the Rogers High School Lady Mounties Competitive Cheer Team
32 members include:

23 WHEREAS, the Rogers High School Lady Mounties Competitive Cheer Team
24 was led by Coach Danielle Ross and Assistant Coach Kurston Ward; and

26 WHEREAS, cheerleading requires dedication, hard work, and a commitment
27 to athleticism, leadership, and character; and
28
29 WHEREAS, the Rogers High School Lady Mounties Competitive Cheer
30 cheerleaders:
31 (1) Provide support to the Rogers High School athletic teams and
32 foster school and community spirit; and
33 (2) Are positive role models in academics, with a majority of
34 the cheerleaders earning a three point five grade point average (3.5 gpa),
35
36 NOW THEREFORE,

1 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

4 THAT the House of Representatives recognize the Rogers High School Lady
5 Mounties Competitive Cheer Team as the 2023 Class 6A Cheer State Champions
6 and commend the hard work and dedication of the athletes, coaches, Rogers
7 Public school district, and parents.

9 NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of the
10 resolution be provided to Coach Danielle Ross by the Chief Clerk of the House
11 of Representatives.
