14 ON UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES ACROSS THE UNITED

18 WHEREAS, reports of antisemitism on university campuses across the
19 United States have surged after the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, terror attack
20 on Israel; and
21
22 WHEREAS, protests over the war in the Gaza Strip have taken hold at
23 multiple elite United States universities, including Columbia University and
24 Yale University; and
25
26 WHEREAS, students on university campuses across the United States have
27 voiced fears of antisemitism on campuses; and
28
29 WHEREAS, the President of the United States has condemned the recent
30 displays of antisemitism that have occurred on university campuses; and
31
32 WHEREAS, an individual, regardless of his or her heritage, religion, or
33 country of origin, has the right to feel safe on the campus of any university
34 in the United States; and

36 WHEREAS, the discriminatory behavior of prohibiting a Jewish individual

1 from attending class at a university bears resemblance to the barring of the
2 Little Rock Nine from attending class in Arkansas; and
3
4 WHEREAS, any university in the State of Arkansas that permits
5 antisemitism or hostility toward Jewish individuals is acting against the
6 wishes of the citizens of Arkansas,

8 NOW THEREFORE,
9 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

12 THAT the House of Representatives condemn the display of antisemitism
13 on university campuses across the United States.
