The resolution recognizes the Ozark High School Hillbillies Cheerleading Team for their outstanding achievement in winning the 2022 Class 3A-4A State Cheerleading Championship on December 17, 2022, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The team triumphed over more than twenty competitors, achieving an impressive score of 96.2. In addition to their state victory, the team also placed ninth in the national competition in the Game Day Non-tumbling Division II and secured first place at both the Southern Spirit Competition in Alma and the Van Buren Cheer Competition.
Coached by Amanda Rogers and assistant coach Jana McCain, the team has made significant strides in their program, marking their first state title and national ranking. Notably, team member Maci Ellis earned recognition on both the All-State and All-Star teams. The resolution expresses gratitude for the team's hard work and dedication, highlighting the lasting impact they have made on their cheerleading program. A copy of the resolution will be provided to Coach Rogers upon its adoption by the Senate.
