The bill amends the membership structure of the Board of Developmental Disabilities Services in Arkansas. It specifies that the board will consist of seven members, with at least one being a woman and all members being citizens and residents of Arkansas who are over the age of twenty-five. The previous requirement for one member to be a resident of each of the six former congressional districts has been removed, along with the stipulation that the seventh member be a member at large.

Instead, the new language mandates that board members represent various types of developmental disability services provided by the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services within the Department of Human Services. The representation will be proportional to the size of the different service types, based on the number of individuals served, ensuring that the board reflects the diversity of services available to the community.
