9 BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2023 CLASS 6A GIRLS

19 WHEREAS, on March 10, 2023, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats
20 Basketball Team won the 2023 6A Girls Basketball State Championship at Bank
21 OZK Arena in Hot Springs, Arkansas; and
22
23 WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team
24 defeated North Little Rock High School with a score of sixty-two (62) to
25 fifty-three (53); and
26
27 WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team
28 finished the season ranked seventeenth (17th) in the country by ESPN and
29 first in the State of Arkansas; and
30
31 WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team
32 represented the State of Arkansas on national television with a game against
33 Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. that was aired on ESPN; and

35 WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team
36 individual honors were led by Chloe Clardy who was named the Most Valuable

1 Player for the Class 6A Girls Basketball Championship, was named to the All-
2 State Team and the All-State Tournament Team, was named the Arkansas Gatorade
3 Player of the Year, and will be playing basketball at Stanford University in
4 the fall; and

6 WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team
7 players also received the following honors: Savannah Scott was named to the
8 All-State Team, the All-State Tournament Team, and will be playing at Auburn
9 University in the fall; Alexis Cox was named to the All-State Team and the
10 All-State Tournament Team; Kamille Brown was named to the All-Conference
11 Team; Kaidyn Beckwith was named to the All-Conference Team; Samyah Jordan was
12 named to the All-Conference Team; and Emerie Bohanon was named to the All-
13 Conference Team; and

15 WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team is
16 coached by Head Coach Ashley Hutchcraft and Assistant Coaches are LaShanta
17 Johnson, Steven Lamb, and Calli De Los Santos; and
18
19 WHEREAS, the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats Basketball Team
20 includes Kaidyn Beckwith, Lyndsey McDonald, Samyah Jordan, Dekeria Carter,
21 Nicole Rodriguez, Emerie Bohanon, Chloe Clardy, Kamille Brown, Alivia Cox,
22 Jelani Davis, Alexis Cox, Anasia Tolliver, Amyia Taylor, Kaydence Turner,
23 Savannah Scott, Braylee McDonald, and Molly Hirschy; and
24
25 WHEREAS, Coach Hutchcraft stated “We are extremely proud of our team
26 and the accomplishments we were able to achieve this season. We were honored
27 to represent the state of Arkansas and the city of Conway on a national
28 level. Finishing our season as state champions proved that all our hard-work
29 and dedication paid off",

31 NOW THEREFORE,
32 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
33 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

35 THAT the Senate recognize the Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats
36 Basketball Team for winning the 2023 Class 6A Girls Basketball State

3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution shall be
4 provided to Head Coach Hutchcraft by the Secretary of the Senate.
