This bill amends the existing law regarding the responsibilities of railroad corporations in maintaining their right-of-way. Specifically, it updates the required maintenance distance around the right-of-way, increasing the distance from one hundred yards (100 yds.) to two hundred yards (200 yds.) on each side of the centerline from public roads or highways.

The amendment also specifies that the maintenance width remains at fifty feet (50) on each side of the centerline between the rails. This change aims to enhance safety and accessibility around railroad areas by ensuring a greater buffer zone between railroads and public thoroughfares.
