25 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

27 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code § 20-76-215, concerning program integrity in
28 the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, is amended to add an
29 additional subsection to read as follows:
30 (h) In order to improve the timeliness of benefit deliveries,
31 operational efficiencies, and possible cost savings, the Department of Human
32 Services shall directly obtain employment and income data assets from
33 external data providers in real-time to help the Department of Human Services
34 make required eligibility determinations for the Supplemental Nutrition
35 Assistance Program.

1 SECTION 2. Arkansas Code § 20-77-2104, concerning Medicaid eligibility
2 verification, is amended to add an additional subsection to read as follows:
3 (g) To the extent allowable under state law and rules and federal law
4 and regulations, in order to supplement data received from the Federal Data
5 Services Hub of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Department
6 of Human Services shall directly obtain real-time employment and income data
7 assets, including additional information assets such as address confirmation,
8 contact information, death, and incarceration pointer data, from external
9 data providers, including third-party vendors of commercial systems, to
10 maximize the cost benefit of the Federal Data Services Hub of the Center for
11 Medicare & Medicaid Services and to help the Department of Human Services
12 make required eligibility determinations for Medicaid as required by federal
13 law.
