19 WHEREAS, on October 4, 2022, the Maumelle Charter High School Falcons
20 Boys Golf Team won the Class 3A Boys Golf State Championship at Turkey
21 Mountain Golf Course at Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; and
22
23 WHEREAS, the Maumelle Charter High School Falcons Boys Golf Team won by
24 three (3) strokes over Harding Academy with a total team score of two hundred
25 and forty-seven (247) strokes; and
26
27 WHEREAS, the Board of Governors of the Professional Golf Association
28 National High School Golf Association has requested the honor of the Maumelle
29 Charter High School Falcons Boys Golf Team at the 2023 National Invitational
30 in July; and

32 WHEREAS, Maumelle Charter High School Falcons Boys Golf Team golfer
33 Luke Hanson shot a one under par with a score of seventy-two (72) to win the
34 individual Class 3A championship, was selected to the All-State Team, this
35 individual championship was his third individual state championship, won his
36 first individual conference championship, and received an athletic

1 scholarship to play golf at Arkansas Tech University; and

3 WHEREAS, Maumelle Charter High School Falcons Boys Golf Team golfer
4 Jase Holder finished inside the top ten (10) posting a score of eighty-three
5 (83) to earn All-State honors in his sophomore season; and
6
7 WHEREAS, the Maumelle Charter High School Falcons Boys Golf Team is
8 coached by Head Coach James Mitchell; and
9
10 WHEREAS, the Maumelle Charter High School Falcons Boys Golf Team
11 includes Luke Hanson, Lennon Tusieseina, Jase Holder, and Drew Burns; and
12
13 WHEREAS, the Maumelle Charter High School Falcons Boys Golf Team Coach
14 Mitchell stated “It was an absolute pleasure and blessing to be around these
15 guys this year. It was amazing to watch the continual hard work and
16 dedication that these young men put in that allowed them to achieve the goals
17 they set for themselves. Their bond and competitive spirit carried them
18 throughout the season and I believe they will continue to keep those close as
19 they move forward into the future”,

21 NOW THEREFORE,
22 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
23 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

25 THAT the Senate recognize the Maumelle Charter High School Falcons Boys
26 Golf Team for winning the 2022 Class 3A Boys Golf State Championship.

28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution shall be
29 provided to Head Coach Mitchell by the Secretary of the Senate.
