8 TO RECOGNIZE MARCH 15, 2023, AS ARKANSAS DEMOLAY DAY

14 DEMOLAY DAY IN ARKANSAS.

16 WHEREAS, it is important for children of all ages to develop conscious
17 social and historical awareness through practical leadership training, hands-
18 on learning, modern, dynamic extracurricular activities, and education; and
19
20 WHEREAS, the future of our communities, state, and nation as well as
21 the preservation of the sacred values are dependent upon giving every child
22 the opportunity and inspiration to succeed in life; and
23
24 WHEREAS, DeMolay International was founded in Kansas City, Missouri, in
25 1919 for the purpose of providing young people guidance in life and an
26 environment to develop critical leadership skills, social value, moral
27 ethics, greater intellectual learning, and the inspiration to succeed through
28 service to others and our world-at-large; and
29
30 WHEREAS, DeMolay International is a youth leadership organization built
31 on wholesome, fundamental values that transcend religious, political, or
32 ideological affiliation: love of parents, reverence for all that is sacred,
33 courtesy, friendship, fidelity, cleanness, and patriotism; and
34
35 WHEREAS, there are numerous DeMolay chapters in the state of Arkansas,
36 including over one hundred (100) active DeMolays and hundreds more alumni who

1 serve their communities,

3 NOW THEREFORE,
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
5 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

7 THAT the Senate recognize March 15, 2023, as DeMolay Day in Arkansas
8 and recommend that the citizens of the state engage in activities that
9 highlight the importance of youth leadership and learning the significance of
10 freedom of religion and speech.
