8 TO RECOGNIZE MISS ARKANSAS 2022 EBONY MITCHELL.

12 TO RECOGNIZE MISS ARKANSAS 2022 EBONY
13 MITCHELL.

15 WHEREAS, on June 18, 2022, Ms. Ebony Mitchell from Harrison, Arkansas
16 was crowned Miss Arkansas; and
17
18 WHEREAS, Ms. Mitchell won the title while competing as Ms. Dogwood; and
19
20 WHEREAS, as the first Miss Arkansas from Harrison, Ms. Mitchell won a
21 scholarship for thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) and more than seventy-five
22 thousand dollars ($75,000) in awards, wardrobe, transportation, and gifts;
23 and
24
25 WHEREAS, Ms. Mitchell has made and continues to make appearances
26 throughout the state promoting her personal platform of “A Responsible
27 Digital You"; and
28
29 WHEREAS, during the Miss Arkansas competition, Ms. Mitchell won the
30 Sarah Slocum Overall Private Interview Award, the Bill Tarkington Overall
31 Evening Gown Award, the Asher Ray Mentor Award, the “All Grown Up” Award, and
32 the Grace Scholarship; and
33
34 WHEREAS, during the arrival ceremonies it was announced that Ms.
35 Mitchell won the Scott Landers Business Profession Marketplace Scholarship
36 and during the preliminary competition for the Sigma Group won the

1 Preliminary Evening Gown award, the Preliminary On-Stage Interview award, and
2 the Preliminary Talent award; and

4 WHEREAS, Ms. Mitchell competed for the title of Miss America 2023 in
5 December, 2022 in Uncasville, Connecticut; and
6
7 WHEREAS, Ms. Mitchell is not new to these competitions having competed
8 in the Outstanding Teen program as Miss Northwest Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen,
9 North Central Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen, and Miss Lakes of the Northwest
10 Outstanding Teen, and was Diamond State Princess for Miss University of
11 Arkansas in 2007; and

13 WHEREAS, Ms. Mitchell received her Bachelor of Business Administration
14 from the University of Central Arkansas in 2019 and received her Master of
15 Health Administration from John Brown University in 2022; and
16
17 WHEREAS, while at the University of Central Arkansas, Ms. Mitchell
18 served as the captain of the University of Central Arkansas Cheerleading
19 Team; and
20
21 WHEREAS, upon the completion of her tenure as Miss Arkansas, Ms.
22 Mitchell plans to pursue her Doctorate of Business Administration and
23 continue to work in the healthcare administration field,
24
25 NOW THEREFORE,
26 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
27 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

29 THAT the Senate of the Ninety-Fourth General Assembly recognize Miss
30 Arkansas 2022 Ebony Mitchell.

32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution shall be
33 provided to Miss Arkansas 2022 Ebony Mitchell by the by the Secretary of the
34 Senate.
