8 TO RECOGNIZE THE PARKVIEW ARTS/SCIENCE MAGNET HIGH
9 SCHOOL PATRIOTS AS THE CLASS 5A STATE FOOTBALL

16 5A STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS.

18 WHEREAS, the Parkview Arts/Science Magnet High School Patriots were
19 victorious against the Shiloh Christian Saints to take the Class 5A state
20 football title with a score of 31 – 21 before a crowd of seven thousand eight
21 hundred sixty-four (7,864) fans at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock,
22 Arkansas, on Saturday, December 3, 2022; and
23
24 WHEREAS, this football championship is the first for Parkview
25 Arts/Science Magnet High School since 1978 and the first for the Little Rock
26 School District since 2004; and
27
28 WHEREAS, the Patriots were led by head coach Brad Bolding and his team
29 of assistant coaches, who provided guidance and coaching to the student-
30 athletes on and off the field; and
31
32 WHEREAS, the team was led by quarterback Eric McGehee who was named the
33 game’s Most Valuable Player, running back Darien Bennett, and defensive back
34 Ramsey Cummings, who led the Patriots defense with eleven (11) tackles; and
35
36 WHEREAS, the Patriots were also successful off the field and the team

1 averaged a three point zero (3.0) grade point average; and

3 WHEREAS, Coach Bolding stated of his team “They don’t have the quit
4 mentality, and it has to do with how we structure our practices and what we
5 demand out of them. They bought in and I can speak highly of that,”
6
7 NOW THEREFORE,
8 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
9 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

11 THAT the Senate congratulate and recognize the Parkview Arts/Science
12 Magnet High School Patriots football team as the Class 5A state champions.
13
14 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, a copy be
15 provided to Coach Brad Bolding by the Secretary of the Senate.
