20 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
21 STATE OF ARKANSAS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN:
22
23 WHEREAS, Emerson Elementary School was recognized by the United States
24 Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2022; and
25
26 WHEREAS, the recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School is based on a
27 school's overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps
28 among student subgroups; and
29
30 WHEREAS, National Blue Ribbon Schools serve as models of effective
31 school practices for state and district educators and other schools
32 throughout the nation; and
33
34 WHEREAS, Exemplary High Performing Schools are among their state's
35 highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally
36 normed tests; and

2 WHEREAS, Emerson Elementary School was recognized by the United States
3 Department of Education as having a strong collaboration with parents,
4 families, teachers, the administrators, and the community towards its efforts
5 in educating the school’s students; and
6
7 WHEREAS, Principal Jennifer Kyle, the teachers, the support staff of
8 Emerson Elementary School were lauded for their shared vision and dedication
9 to each student’s academic and mental health needs; and
10
11 WHEREAS, most importantly, the students of Emerson Elementary School
12 are to be commended for their hard work, dedication, and excellence in
13 education,
14
15 NOW THEREFORE,
16 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
17 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

19 THAT the Senate of the Ninety-Fourth General Assembly recognize Emerson
20 Elementary School as a 2022 Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon
21 School.
22
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution shall be
24 provided to Emerson Elementary School Principal Jennifer Kyle by the
25 Secretary of the Senate.
