22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

24 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code Title 25, Chapter 16, Subchapter 8, is
25 amended to add an additional section to read as follows:
26 25-16-807. Residency.
27 (a) As used in this section:
28 (1) “Reside” means to be physically present and to maintain a
29 residency;
30 (2) “Residency” means the place of actual abode, not a home
31 which a person expects to occupy at some future time; and
32 (3) “Resident” means a natural person domiciled in the State of
33 Arkansas who maintains a permanent place of abode within this state.
34 (b) All members of a state commission, board, council, committee
35 or similar body of the State of Arkansas shall:
36 (1) Be a resident of the State of Arkansas; and

1 (2) Reside in the state during the term of appointment to the
2 state commission, board, council, committee, or similar body.
