8 TO RECOGNIZE THE BRYANT HORNETS FOOTBALL TEAM AS THE
9 CLASS 7A STATE CHAMPIONS.

14 TEAM AS THE CLASS 7A STATE CHAMPIONS.

17 WHEREAS, the Bryant Hornets bested the Bentonville Tigers to take the
18 Class 7A state football title for a fifth consecutive time with a score of
19 36-7 before a crowd of eighteen thousand four hundred eighty-two (18,482)
20 fans at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Friday, December 2,
21 2022; and
22
23 WHEREAS, in the past five (5) seasons, the Hornets have never lost to
24 an in-state team; and
25
26 WHEREAS, with their fifth straight championship title, the Bryant
27 Hornets made Arkansas history as the first team to have won that many
28 consecutive state titles in the playoff era; and

30 WHEREAS, Coach Buck James said, "Five in a row is mind-boggling. I
31 think this is something these young men will remember forever. I know I will
32 remember it forever",

34 NOW THEREFORE,
35 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
36 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

2 THAT the Senate congratulate and recognize the Bryant Hornets football
3 team as the Class 7A state champions.

5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, a copy be
6 provided to Coach Buck James by the Secretary of the Senate.
