18   BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

20          SECTION 1.        Arkansas Code  27-23-110(a)(2), concerning the cost for an
21   application for a commercial driver license, is amended to read as follows:
22                   (2)     The application for a commercial driver license shall be
23   accompanied by an application fee of forty-one fifty dollars ($41.00)
24   ($50.00).

26          SECTION 2.        Arkansas Code  27-23-111(e) and (f), concerning the
27   expiration a commercial driver license, is amended to read as follows:
28          (e)    Expiration of License.          All driver licenses issued on and after
29   January 1, 1990, shall be issued for a period of four (4) years from the date
30   of issuance Except as provided in subsection (f) of this section, the Office
31   of Driver Services shall issue a commercial driver license to a qualified
32   applicant for a period of five (5) years from the date of issuance.
33          (f)(1)       Authority to Adjust All Commercial Driver License Expiration
34   Periods.     The office, for whatever period of time is necessary, shall have
35   the authority to may promulgate rules and regulations to extend or shorten
36   the term of any a commercial driver license period, as necessary, to ensure

 1   that approximately twenty-five twenty percent (25%) (20%) of the total valid
 2   commercial driver licenses are renewable each fiscal year.
 3                 (2)   All A commercial driver licenses license subject to change
 4   for the purpose of this chapter subdivision (f)(1) of this section shall also
 5   be subject to adjustment of the commercial driver license renewal fee to
 6   ensure the proper commercial driver license fee is assessed as set forth in
 7   this chapter and the change shall be carried out in a manner determined by
 8   the office.

10        SECTION 3.        Arkansas Code  27-23-118(a), concerning the distribution
11   of commercial driver license fees, is amended to read as follows:
12        (a)   The fee set out in  27-23-110(a) shall be deposited as special
13   revenues into the State Treasury and distributed as follows:
14                 (1)   Twenty Twenty-five dollars ($20.00) ($25.00) shall be
15   deposited to the credit of the Revenue Division of the Department of Finance
16   and Administration into the Commercial Driver License Fund;
17                 (2)   One dollar ($1.00) of the fee shall be distributed in the
18   same manner as set out in  27-16-801(g);        and
19                 (3)(2)     The remaining twenty twenty-five dollars ($20.00)
20   ($25.00) of the fee shall be distributed in the same manner as set out in 
21   27-16-801(d).

23        SECTION 4.        EFFECTIVE DATE.   This act is effective on and after January
24   1, 2022.
