8 TO ENCOURAGE THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF
9 TRANSPORTATION TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY
10 82 IN UNION COUNTY AS THE "JEREMY WISE AND BENJAMIN
11 WISE MEMORIAL HIGHWAY".

17 U.S. HIGHWAY 82 IN UNION COUNTY AS THE
18 "JEREMY WISE AND BENJAMIN WISE MEMORIAL

22 WHEREAS, Jeremy Wise and Benjamin Wise were brothers born and raised in
23 Union County, Arkansas; and
24
25 WHEREAS, both brothers devoted themselves to serving and defending the
26 United States; and
27
28 WHEREAS, Jeremy Wise was a United States Navy SEAL who was killed in
29 action on December 30, 2009, in Afghanistan; and
30
31 WHEREAS, Benjamin Wise was a United States Army Special Forces who died
32 on January 15, 2012, from combat wounds suffered while in Afghanistan; and
33
34 WHEREAS, the citizens of Union County and the State of Arkansas want to
35 honor the memory of these brave men and honor their families by designating a
36 portion of U.S. Highway 82 in Union County as the "Jeremy Wise and Benjamin

3 NOW THEREFORE,
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
5 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

7 THAT the Senate encourage the Arkansas Department of Transportation to
8 designate the route along U.S. Highway 82 East from the border of El Dorado,
9 Arkansas to the right-of-way line of the main entrance road to the South
10 Arkansas Regional Airport as the "Jeremy Wise and Benjamin Wise Memorial
11 Highway".
