21   BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

23          SECTION 1.        Arkansas Code  5-54-109 is amended to read as follows:
24          5-54-109.        Refusing to assist law enforcement officer.
25          (a)    A person commits the offense of refusing to assist a law
26   enforcement officer if, upon command by a person known by him or her to be a
27   law enforcement officer, the person unreasonably refuses:
28                  (1)      Refuses or fails to assist in effecting a lawful arrest or
29   preventing another person from committing an offense; or
30                  (2)      Refuses to comply with a court order requiring the person to
31   assist a law enforcement officer while the law enforcement officer is
32   executing his or her official duties.
33          (b)    Refusing to assist a law enforcement officer is a Class C
34   misdemeanor.
