22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

24 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code Title 12, Chapter 10, Subchapter 3, is
25 amended to add an additional section to read as follows:
26 12-10-329. Fire protection district map Information maintenance.
27 (a) Each fire protection district shall maintain an accurate fire
28 protection district map that is certified by the:
29 (1) Mayor or other qualified representative of the city or town
30 in which the fire protection district is located; or
31 (2) County judge or county fire coordinator of the county in
32 which the fire protection district is located.
33 (b) The fire protection district map created under subsection (a) of
34 this section shall be:
35 (1) Compatible with the guidelines and standards under 12-10-
36 305;

1 (2) Transmitted to the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems
2 Office:
3 (A) Annually; and
4 (B) Upon changes to the fire protection district map by a
5 method agreed upon by the office and the fire protection district; and
6 (3) Maintained by the office to assist the Arkansas 911 Board in
7 carrying out the duties of the board under 12-10-305.
8 (c) The board shall incorporate the fire protection district maps
9 under this section into next generation 911 no later than January 1, 2022.

11 SECTION 2. Arkansas Code 14-284-207 is amended to read as follows:
12 14-284-207. Quorum court to establish fire protection district service
13 area Furnishing of maps.
14 (a)(1) The quorum court of each county wherein is located in which a
15 fire protection district formed for fire protection purposes is located shall
16 establish the service area of the fire protection districts to not exceed a
17 radius of five (5) miles from each fire station district.
18 (2) For the purpose of this subsection, five (5) miles means a
19 distance of five (5) miles by straight line, not road or highway miles The
20 service area of a fire protection district created after January 1, 2021,
21 shall not include any area within the territorial jurisdiction of the
22 governing body of a municipality as established in 14-56-413 that has
23 adopted an ordinance to provide fire protection services to the area in
24 accordance with 14-53-102, unless waived by majority vote of the governing
25 body of the municipality.
26 (b) The quorum courts court shall furnish the fire protection
27 organizations district with a map indicating their the service area of the
28 fire protection district.
