The Alabama Legislature has passed a resolution commending the Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) Women's Basketball Team for their remarkable achievements during the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 seasons. The Lady Pirates made history by winning their first-ever Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) State Championship and completing a perfect 12-0 regular season. They also secured their first Gulf South District Championship and achieved their first tournament victory at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament, finishing the 2024-2025 season with a 22-8 record. Individual players received accolades, including freshman Zy Thompson earning NJCAA Third Team All-American honors.
Building on their success, the Lady Pirates continued to excel in the 2025-2026 season, achieving a program-high preseason ranking of No. 12 and finishing with an 11-1 ACCC record. They claimed their second consecutive ACCC Championship and Gulf South District Championship, extending their winning streak to 15 games. Freshman London VanArsdale was named ACCC Player of the Year, and several players received All-Conference honors. The team advanced to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament for the second consecutive year, showcasing their talent and dedication. The resolution recognizes the team's accomplishments and the pride they bring to CVCC and the surrounding communities.
