The resolution establishes the Alabama Schools S.T.E.M. Programs Study Commission, which aims to analyze and evaluate existing educational programs related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M.) in both public and private schools across the state. Recognizing the importance of preparing youth for future workforce demands, the commission will conduct a comprehensive survey of current S.T.E.M. initiatives and recommend necessary changes to enhance program structures, authorizations, and financial support.

The commission will consist of various legislative leaders and their designees, ensuring a diverse representation that reflects Alabama's demographics. Co-chaired by the Chairs of the House and Senate Education Policy Committees, the commission is tasked with meeting regularly and preparing a report of its findings and recommendations by November 1, 2026. Upon completion of its duties, the commission will be dissolved. Administrative support will be provided by relevant legislative agencies, and members will receive compensation and reimbursement for their participation as outlined in the resolution.
