The Alabama Legislature recognizes Senior Trooper Hunter Woodruff for receiving the 2026 Alabama Legislative Meritorious Service Award for Law Enforcement, honoring his extraordinary courage and decisive actions in the line of duty. Since joining the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency in 2020, Trooper Woodruff has shown a strong commitment to professional excellence by completing various advanced training programs, including certifications in active response, human trafficking, tactical medical training, and drug interdiction.

On November 12, 2025, Trooper Woodruff demonstrated his training and dedication when he assisted a Prattville Police Department officer responding to a gunshot victim. Upon arriving at the scene, he provided immediate lifesaving first aid by applying a clotting agent and gauze to the victim's wounds, effectively preventing further blood loss and keeping the victim calm until paramedics arrived. His swift and effective actions were credited with saving the victim's life, reflecting the high standards of law enforcement and the commitment to serving and protecting the residents of Alabama.
