This bill would make a change to a pharmacy classification in the law governing the licensing and operation of pharmacy benefits managers. The current term of "independent pharmacy," referring to a pharmacy classified by the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a community pharmacy, would be deleted. In its place, a new term, "unaffiliated pharmacy," would be introduced to refer to a pharmacy that is not affiliated with a pharmacy benefits manager.
