The resolution honors Judge Jody W. Bishop for his exceptional professional achievements as he retires from his position as Judge of Alabama's 28th Judicial Circuit. With a distinguished career spanning several decades, Judge Bishop has served the people of Baldwin County and the State of Alabama with integrity and dedication. His judicial tenure includes two terms as Circuit Court Judge, 12 years as Presiding District Judge, and three years as Municipal Judge for Fairhope. Prior to his judicial roles, he contributed to the Baldwin County legal community as an Assistant District Attorney and operated a private law practice.
In addition to his judicial accomplishments, Judge Bishop has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service through various leadership roles, including his involvement with the Kiwanis Club, the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Alabama, and the Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation. A graduate of Fairhope High School, Berry College, and The University of Alabama School of Law, he remains deeply connected to his community.
