In 2023, the Legislature enacted the Rural Logging Efficiency Act, aimed at enhancing the supply chain for forest products by establishing a stable funding source for the maintenance and construction of rural bridges that may not qualify for traditional funding. This act created the Logging Efficiency Grant Fund, which is intended to support the necessary infrastructure for the logging and forestry sector.

In light of these needs, the resolution urges the Alabama Congressional Delegation to seek federal funding, either through grants or direct appropriations, to assist in the construction, replacement, or repair of rural bridges. The resolution emphasizes the importance of directing these funds to the Logging Efficiency Grant Fund to ensure the continued success and competitiveness of Alabama's forestry industry. A copy of the resolution will be provided to each member of the Alabama Congressional Delegation.
