The bill amends Section 45-42-110.01 of the Code of Alabama 1975 specifically for Limestone County, removing the previous limit on the additional expense allowance for members of the board of registrars. The existing provision that set the allowance at fifteen dollars ($15) per day is deleted, and new language is inserted to authorize the county commission to establish the amount of the allowance through a resolution. This allows for flexibility in determining the expense allowance, which can be changed or amended by the commission as needed.

Additionally, the bill states that the new expense allowance will be retroactive to October 1, 2001, and all actions and payments made to the board since that date are ratified. The new provision supersedes the previous allowance and will take effect on October 1, 2026. The expense allowance will continue to be in addition to any other compensation or allowances provided by law and will be funded from the county general fund.
