Under current law, the Alabama G.I. Dependent Scholarship Program provides scholarships to eligible dependents of disabled and deceased veterans that meet certain residency and disability requirements. This bill would reduce the minimum disability rating for participation in the program for a disabled veteran to 30 percent. This bill would also establish a pilot program to allow a certain number of dependents of eligible veterans to participate in the scholarship program.
