The resolution commends Jake Harper, a prominent cattleman and timber landowner from Wilcox County, for his extensive service to the Alabama Farmers Federation and Alfa Insurance since 2003, where he has held the position of Southwest Area Vice President. Recognized for his logical approach and accountability, Mr. Harper received the prestigious Service to Agriculture Award during the Federation's 104th annual meeting in December 2025. His leadership journey began in 1981 when he joined the Wilcox County Farmers Federation board, eventually becoming its president and serving in various capacities, including chair of the State Young Farmers Committee and a member of the state board.
In addition to his Federation roles, Mr. Harper has contributed to local and state conservation efforts, serving on the Soil & Water Conservation District board and the Forever Wild Land Trust board, among others. Known for his integrity and straightforward business conduct, he has been a dedicated member of the Federation, missing only one board meeting in 32 years.
