The bill amends Section 16-1-25 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to enhance the access of military recruiters to public high school students. It mandates that all city and county public high schools designate one school day during the fall semester for military recruiters to administer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) on a voluntary basis. The bill also requires schools to provide appropriate testing accommodations for students participating in the ASVAB.

In addition to the new requirements, the bill maintains existing provisions that allow military recruiters the same access to students and campus facilities as prospective employers and postsecondary institutions. The new legal language includes the insertion of subsections (a) and (b), which outline these requirements, while no deletions from current law are specified. The act is set to take effect on October 1, 2026.
