This bill would establish the Alabama Construction Zone Safety Act to authorize the Alabama Department of Transportation to install an automated photographic speed enforcement system in construction zones on the public highways of the state. This bill would also require the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency to operate the automated photographic speed enforcement system and issue civil traffic citations to the owners of motor vehicles recorded traveling 10 or more miles per hour over the posted speed limit in a construction zone.
