The bill amends Sections 16-54-2 and 16-54-5 of the Code of Alabama 1975, specifically regarding the governance of the University of Montevallo. Key changes include the revision of the Board of Trustees' composition, which will now consist of the Governor, the State Superintendent of Education, and 11 trustees, with specific provisions for representation from congressional districts and the possibility of an at-large trustee who is not a state resident. The quorum for board meetings is increased from five to six members, and the term for trustees is reduced from 12 years to eight years, starting January 1, 2027.
